Just ask Hyacinth Bucket; doilies are the epitome of class…
Ok, well if you don’t agree with that, how about the epitome of Quirky? These DIY Doily Envelopes are a great solution for non-standard size invitations, and they are so pretty and unique! The best part is they are easy to make.
Here’s the How-To:
You will need:
- A pack of doilies
- Paper Glue
- Your invitations
- A roll of stickers
Start at the bottom and fold the edge up, ensuring the invitation is centred on the doily.
Now take the side and fold it in on itself at 45 degrees, allowing for a further fold of 45 degrees, as if you were wrapping a present. This keeps the edges neat.
Stick the fold in place.
Repeat for the other side, and fold in the top (without gluing).
Finally, secure the top flap with a sticker.
I recommend printing address labels for the front, doilys are a bit of a nightmare to feed through a standard desktop printer!
