Dirty Fabulous vintage gowns

Shopping in a Vintage Wonderland

Vintage is one wedding trend that is here to stay. What’s not to like – it’s kind to the environment, it’s easy on the eye, and a lot of the time it’s a lot easier on the pocket than reproduction dresses (a lot current designs hark back to a vintage aesthetic).

A few weeks ago, I took my first babysteps into the world of vintage wedding gowns, and paid a visit to Dublin’s Dirty Fabulous.

“Treasure Trove” is a term reserved for the most eclectic of shops and it definitely applies here. Every where you turn you see unique pieces dying to be worn again, having been hand-picked by the shop’s owner-curators, sisters Caroline and Kathy.

The day I went there was just before their latest buying trip – which was actually perfect timing – I told the lovely Caroline what ideas I have in my head for the dress, and she jotted them all down so she could keep an eye out for something that’s just right on the trip. How’s that for service!

Here’s a sneak preview of some of the gowns the girls uncovered on their trip.
