Jamie and Mark’s destination wedding really stands out for me as one of the most relaxed I have ever seen. It’s really nice to see a destination wedding where the couple seem truly ‘at home’. Prepare to swoon over the breath-taking Scottish scenery, retro-inspired short wedding dress and – did I mention? – the groom wore a kilt…
The couple have a strong connection with Scotland, due in part to Mark’s Scottish heritage. “He wore the Grant tartan kilt when he proposed so when it came time to chose a wedding destination, the historic Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness built in the 1300s instantly came to mind.” their photographer Casey of Casey Connell Photography, who travelled from New York to capture their day says.
Jamie’s bespoke dress was made by an NY dress designer. The dusty, silvery colour is beautiful and it’s a subtle take on the coloured dress trend.
The couple and their fourteen guests were treated to a truly Scottish experience; “Of course it rained as they performed the handfasting and drank from the quaich. After to the ceremony it was back to Inverness for a celebratory dinner. Their destination wedding was everything they had dreamed and more. It was absolutely them in every way.”
