At the weekend, my chief bridesmaid Karen came up to visit from Cavan and we went to the Wedding Journal Show at the RDS (I promised free cake and it did not fail to deliver!)
It took place at Citywest Convention Centre and although there could have been more (or bigger) signs to get us there we found the place. Order of the day was hen parties and florists (as we have a lot of the big things booked already), but that didn’t stop us getting distracted at every turn…
Arnotts - we admired the Joseph Joseph kitchenware and debated the pros and cons of a wedding list.
Best Day Productions - first time it’s happened to me but when Mary from Best Day handed me a flier I was able to tell her with a smile that we’ve already booked her! Then the penny dropped and we had a chat. The video is one of the most important things to me and you can read in my Best Day blog post why we chose their innovative and creative company to capture our day.
Creative Invites - I have a weakness for letterpress, what can I say. And I loved what they had on offer.
Causey Farm Hen/Stag Parties - Having been a Causey Farm hen twice (and once being scared witless at their special Halloween event, Farmophobia), I could not recommend the place highly enough for hen parties. It’s a great way for your friends to get to know each other and there’ll be at least one person at your wedding who knows how to milk a cow.
Heart2Heart Wedding Planners - funnily enough it was the Hen Party end of their business that captured our imaginations. Especially when Andrew showed us the amazing house (with a swimming pool) in Donabate we could spend the weekend at being fed gourmet delights, a laid-back twist on traditional hen parties – and definitely in the running for mine!
Lizzie Agnew Beautiful Gowns – If you’re after a dressmaker and designer who will bring the vintage-inspired creation you have in mind to life, check out Lizzie’s website, there are some very unique finds there and she can work with you to make your dream dress.
Mini Me Models Cake Toppers – there are personalised cake toppers and then there are caricature cake toppers. They had one of Brian Cowen that was priceless. I wonder if he’s more popular as a cake topper than as a political figure? Either way, the likeness was remarkable and these caricatures are true to life.
Mix0-logic Limited – Hen party cocktail classes, yes please! Mine’s a nohito (and that’s not a typo).
White Tea Photography – it was lovely to meet Aga and Noel in person. You may remember I featured their Black and White Photo Booth pics on the blog. Their eye for photographic detail aside, they are a really likeable pair that you’d enjoy having around on your wedding day, and personality is a big factor when choosing a photographer.
Did any of ye make it along to the day? What stood out for you?
