Every so often I get an email from a photographer who’s not just gifted in the field of the visual, but in the verbal too. Laura and Derek’s Kooky Coffee Engagement isn’t just a delightfully-caputred snapshot of an exciting time in a couple’s life, it comes with a back story from a photographer who feels the love.
I’ll let the talented Katie of Kt Crabb Photography tell it…
“I’ve heard love defined as – seeing beyond your own circumstances to care for another. As delightful as that sounds, that definition of unconditional love can be hard to witness or come by. There is that moment that you do witness it, however, and it’s contagious, leaving you wanting more and experiencing it for your own. This couple displays that true love like no other.”
“Because of their limited time they can spend together (with Derek being in the military), they seem to know how to make every moment count. I’ve honestly never seen a couple so happy just to be in one another’s arms. They met at a Starbucks. Laura found Derek to be a kind and humorous barista, but never imagined after simply ordering a coffee they would be spending their lives together. It started with a few run-ins at the Starbucks and the rest is history.
“It only seemed fitting to include some coffee mugs into their engagement session! Laura and Derek chose to have their fun engagement session at Central Park in Winter Park, FL. What a lovely location filled with a rose garden, brick roads, and climbing trees. Derek and Laura laughed their way through their session, but not without throwing in some creativity and romance. They came prepared with their chalkboard and mugs. The only request Derek made was to recreate the last photo. Couldn’t think of a better couple to do so.”
