In which our groom to be receives no payment or benefit for his kind words… Honest.
This month it will be exactly a year until the Big Day. My last year as a ‘free’ man – as everyone (okay, mostly men) keeps telling me… I guess when Christmas comes then it’ll be ‘my last Christmas as a free man’ too, and the same with the forthcoming Easter, summer, when I finally get out of jail – ‘my last first day as a free man’ – etc…
Although I’m pretty sure I’ve never been married before – there were those five hours in Vegas that I can’t account for – I know that once the ring is on my finger, it doesn’t mean that I automatically become wrapped around Lisa’s finger (I kind of already am)… I guess what I’m trying to say is that I don’t view marriage as the end of my liberal existence, but rather as an extension of it.
Recalling a Fianna Fail campaign of elections past (A lot done. More to dupe) – my memory may be slightly affected by current events – I think having reached the milestone of a year to go we have accomplished quite a lot in our preparations, while there is still plenty to keep us occupied in the months to come.
Finally, I just want to take this opportunity to thank Lisa for all the amazing work she’s done so far, not just on the wedding organisation itself but also for this blog which I’m sure you’ll all agree is a Joy to read (unlike my feeble puns) and a fantastic resource for sharing great wedding ideas and advice. If Lisa was in charge of the country then I’m sure the only IMF coming to our shores would be the Idea Making Foundation looking for guidance.
I apologise if this post has veered on the soppy side but I’m just so happy that in a year’s time I’ll be able to call Lisa my wife. Woohoo!
