I love these vintage-inspired invitations from Irish letterpressers extraordinaire Farrell & Chase…
They kind of make me want to have my wedding abroad… In Italy… Pasta… Pizza…
Letterpress invitations are individually made; the 100% cotton paper is hand-fed through a vintage press making them not only pretty to look at but wonderfully tactile.
I am kind of mad about letterpress, there is just something so old worldly about it; a well-established printing form that has experienced a revival in recent times, thanks in no small part to Martha Stewart Weddings Magazines who have featured it since the early 1990s. Whereby digital makes everything uniform, letterpress crafts each piece to its own unique form.
I’m not sure our budget will stretch to letterpress (I’ve already promised Ro that I will design the invitations myself), but a girl can dream.
These particular invitations would be great for a couple who love to travel – perhaps who met whilst backpacking in South East Asia or who run off every summer in pursuit of more stamps in their passport.
If letterpress is your thing too, have a look at Farrell & Chase’s website where they can custom design the right suite of letterpress invitations for you.
