Alternative Wedding Event – Link Love

This weekend, I tottered along to the Guinness Storehouse for One of a Kind Weddings‘ Alternative Wedding Event.

I’d heard about it on twitter a few weeks ago and thought to myself; ‘That is right up my street!’. Chatterings on twitter in the past week led to a bit of a wedding blogger/supplier tweetup and so it was that at 2pm on Sunday we bloggers descended on White Tea Photography‘s stand and got to chatting.

Shout-outs to (oh and put the kettle on, this may take some time):

Discovery Gospel Choir - their performance made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and their version of the Our Father in Irish was like nothing I’ve ever heard before.

Oxfam Bridal -so many beautiful robes at such a good cause.

White Tea Photgrahy – they showed a slideshow of one wedding that they’d covered. Bea-a-utiful stuff. I wish I could say they’re usually better-behaved! :)

Aislinn Events – Not only had she a drive to Kerry to face, but Annie had been in IKEA all morning. I don’t know where she gets her energy from but she was not lacking in enthusiasm at the event. I look forward to seeing the office before-and-after on your blog, Annie!

Tinkerbelle Bride – so nice to meet my fellow bridal blogger in person!

Siobhan Byrne Photography – her G Hotel Wedding that featured on the blog last Thursday was amazing, I had to stop by her stand and say hi.

Soul Purpose - What a band and what a voice. They were on quite late in the evening so many people may have missed them but it’s definitely worth stopping by their website and seeing what they can do. And if they’re unavailable for your wedding date, check out Sax and the City. We’ve booked them for our wedding and they are as foot-tapping good!

Lisa O’Dwyer Photographyall the pics at the bottom of this post are by the lovely Lisa. She was so busy snapping we didn’t get much time to chat. Next time!

Finer Details – Marie’s wedding and social stationery is so beautiful

One Fab Day – special thanks to the ladies from One Fab Day for getting me tea and chocolate! Great to chat to fellow bridal bloggers. I had to congratulate them on the new chapter their blog is embarking on.

Rangoli Jewellry - Aisling is a gas ticket and a wonderful jewellery designer. You might remember her Cupcakes and Jewellery post from Valentine’s Day.

Wedding High – Blaithin and I grew up in the same town and we even did ballet and brownies together as children… now we’re both into bridal blogging! Check out her blog post about the event.

Pearl & Godiva - The lovely Pearl showed me her beautiful collection of vintage china available for hire. Girly central!

The Mastersons - Husband and wife (and sometimes baby) team Trish and Brian make up The Mastersons – another pair that have featured on Bride and Joy. We had a great chat about photography and weddings in general (after all, what was the day for!)

The Guinness Storehouse – last but not least – what a venue. I snook up into the gravity bar to have a look – amazing views of the city. Their wedding packages are surprisingly reasonable too.
